2018 - Day 4

The sky was gray when we awoke this morning, and while we were getting ready, a little bit did come down. Leona and I donned our rain gear, as we were going to be riding through this system according to the radar. We ended up riding the rest of the day without any rain at all, though the skies were gray until we had crossed into Minnesota.

The afternoon ended up warm and sunny, getting up to at least 28 Celsius. Bypassing Minneapolis - St. Paul went well, traffic wasn’t too bad. The wind has been strong basically all four days we’ve been on the road now, and it would be great to get a break from that.

It didn’t feel like a very long ride, and then we were passing into Wisconsin, leaving Minnesota behind. It was nice to have more trees and rolling hills again, something besides flat prairies.

Leona and I were both tired, but the weather was awesome and it was a beautiful evening. We decided to ride a little further than planned, just to take advantage of the situation. It’s 1,150km to Nashville now, so hopefully we can do a good chunk tomorrow and have an easy Thursday ride into Tennessee.

Wiping some rain off the seat to start the day

First rest stop of the day

Getting into some different scenery, and though it’s not much, it’s welcome after the prairies

I like pictures like this every now and then, and my wife got a good one for me

This is where we will bunk down for the night
