2018 - Day 11

After the morning routine we headed off to take in the Creation Museum today. I won't lie, I was more than a little disappointed today, as the crowds of people were almost unbearable at times. We were packed in so tight that it was hard to get anything at all from the first trip through the exhibits. We had fortunately bought combo tickets yesterday, which allowed us to bypass a very long line. It must have been an hour before they could get in. It was at least half an hour for us just to get in, and once in, we were herded through like animals.

There was a speaker in the Legacy Hall that we ended listening to, about a 1 hour presentation, which was quite informative. Between that and a break for lunch, we were able to relax a little, and then we went through the exhibits again. This time there were hardly any people, so we could take our time and actually enjoy the museum. If you had asked me at 12pm to rate my experience, it would have been hard to even give it a 1/5. I'd still recommend people to go, but only to go after lunch when the crowds have thinned out. I'm trying hard to be positive here, because I believe that what Answers in Genesis is trying to do here is a good thing. Clearly they need to re-think how to get people through, because it was ridiculous this morning, and possibly they've just outgrown the current setup.

It was just one of those days today where everything is off. Dinner was bland, the waitress was rude, and the atmosphere wasn't that great. These days do happen, just because we're on vacation doesn't mean that it's all gonna be awesome.

Tomorrow we will try to get this trip back on track, heading east through a little bit of Ohio and into West Virginia. For me, this coming part of the trip has been what I've been looking forward to, riding through some great scenery and some great motorcycle roads!

This is how the first few hours, and the first trip through the exhibits, was spent

I'm amazed at how realistic these figures are, almost like they are living people
