We have been waiting for this trip for quite some time, so when it was finally time to leave we were itching to go. We had breakfast at the bakery, got gas for the bike, and then hit the road. Before we even got out of town we had to go back for something we forgot.
Attempt 2 was successful, and off we were. There were a few rain showers to ride through, but just short ones. The rain had come through ahead of us a few times as well, leaving wet roads and fresh smells.
It was an uneventful day, which is exactly what day 1 needs to be. By the time tomorrow ends it will feel like we are on vacation. It’s so far to go just to get started when you live this far north. The bike is running great, it’s also eager to go somewhere new it seems.
We will be sleeping in Fort Saskatchewan tonight, after a great dinner and a shower.
