2017 - Day 3

After a long day yesterday due to sitting in a Harley shop, it wasn't the way I was planning to start this day. We had a great night of sleep, and a nice breakfast, and then made our way over to the shop. They got us right in and started on the diagnosis, finding the problem in short order. I was hearing a grinding noise coming from the back wheel area coming into Prince George yesterday, and if it wasn't for the loud wind I would have heard it earlier. Turns out the guys in GP forgot to put in a spacer, or just put one in that was too narrow. The bike was ready a little before 11, and I'd highly recommend the guys in Prince George, they did a great job. Mighty Peace HD in GP, however, I can't recommend to anyone. They've had my bikes in there twice, and screwed it up both times.

It was fantastic to get back on the road a little earlier than the last few days, and we took our time today, riding through some truly nice country. It was a chilly day on the bike, but no rain at all (though it was all around us at times), and the bike was back to running great. We stopped often, knowing we had all day to get to Cache Creek, where we are spending the night. Tomorrow it's a ride along highway 99 to the ferry terminal, and then over to Vancouver Island.

The Fraser River down below, it was flowing fast
A rest stop at Mile 108
A beautiful place for a short break...

...and this is how I break
Getting closer to Cache Creek, the scenery is changing now
Not far from Cache Creek now

Hungry Herbie's for dinner
Looks like it's straight out of the '70's, the food was good
Walking back to our motel, down highway 97
