2017 - Day 1

The time for another road trip has finally come. Today we started our ride out to Vancouver Island, where we will spend a few days, before exploring southern BC and Jasper National Park on our way home. We have been looking forward to this trip for a while, and I especially am looking forward to some seat time on the bike. There will be a lot of new roads this year, though it looks as though we won't be adding any new states or provinces to the list. It's likely that we won't cross the border into the USA at all, unless something catches our fancy while we are close.

It was a damp ride from La Crete to High Level, having to go the long way around due to the ferry being closed. After High Level the roads were dry, but it took until almost Manning for the sun to come out more than just a little. We stopped in Manning for a short chat with Tye & Wanda, before continuing on. By the time we hit Fairview I was starving, and we stopped for a burger, before making the final leg to GP.

Tomorrow the bike goes in the shop for a service and rear tire, and then we head west into BC. We are really looking forward to some new scenery, and mountains!

I thank God every day for this woman, she's amazing in every way! It's awesome to share some adventures with her, and I love that she's not scared to pack a small bag and travel with me through whatever weather we encounter. Thanks for making my journeys that much better babe!
Waiting to cross the Peace River. Everything is so green, and it smells so fresh, can't wait to see some new country
